Berlin Together
What is BerlinZusammen – party, alliance, NGO?+
None of those. BerlinZusammen is a civic campaign and platform. We are not an alliance of organisations, but an association of individuals. The parent organisation is BerlinZusammen e.V.
Who is behind it – and who is funding it?+
Individuals from social movements and civic society, some active for years, others for the first time. The campaign is financed exclusively through crowdfunding and individual donations – no political parties, no associations, no corporate funds.

What exactly is the city agreement?+
A public, named commitment by candidates to actively implement our five demands after the election – and to be publicly accountable for this at least every three months. BerlinZusammen organises these formats and in return actively supports signatories in the election campaign.
Is that not just another election promise?+
No – that is precisely the difference. The city agreement is not an empty promise, but binds candidates to a concrete procedure: public reporting obligation, organised scrutiny, pressure from urban society. Anyone who just wants to sign but not deliver should steer clear.
What happens if candidates do not keep their promises?+
BerlinZusammen is going public – and mobilising. We see ourselves as a permanent structure, not an election campaign project. The classic protest repertoire – demonstrations, rallies, actions – remains in our back pocket at all times.
Claims
How did you come up with the five demands?+
The demands come from active Berlin movements – some with a long history (DWE referendum, registration for everyone), others from local initiatives on housing, schools and mobility. Supplemented by surveys: we looked at what is really bugging Berliners.
Why these five – and not other topics?+
Two criteria were decisive: feasibility at state level – and majority social support beyond progressive milieus. Together, the five stand for a policy that tackles social inequality concretely, rather than just remaining at the level of declarations.
Political classification
Where does BerlinZusammen stand politically?+
We are politically independent. Our demands are not left-wing or right-wing – they address problems that affect Berliners from all backgrounds. At the same time: we clearly stand on the side of those who are affected by rising rents, expensive mobility and an unfair education system.
Who precisely will you be supporting?+
Candidates from all parties who sign the city agreement. We are concentrating our active resources on focus districts where our work can make the biggest difference. Exactly which candidates these are will be decided over the course of the summer.
Are you dividing urban society by naming corporations as opponents?+
It is social inequality that divides – not the naming of its causes. We demand that everyone who benefits from the community contributes to its funding. That is not division, that is fairness.
