None of those. BerlinZusammen is a civic campaign and platform. We are not an alliance of organisations, but an association of individuals. The parent organisation is BerlinZusammen e.V.

Individuals from social movements and civic society, some active for years, others for the first time. The campaign is financed exclusively through crowdfunding and individual donations – no political parties, no associations, no corporate funds.

We have contacted all direct candidates of democratic parties. Those who publicly endorse our five demands will be made visible – in our election checker so that voters know who is committed to a change in policy. In our focus districts, we are actively supporting them in the election campaign, for example through door-to-door canvassing.

No – we'll keep at it. After the election, we will organise open town hall meetings to which we will invite direct candidates and the neighbourhood. There we will talk about the implementation of our demands, provide information and consult. Election promises must not be forgotten.

Then we'll ensure publicity. BerlinZusammen sees itself as a permanent structure, not an election campaign project. Through the city assemblies and our public relations work, we keep the demands present – and the classic repertoire of protests, rallies and actions remains possible at any time.

The demands stem from active Berlin movements – some with a long history (DWE referendum, registration for all), others from local initiatives concerning rents, schools and mobility. Supplemented by a representative survey of over 6,800 Berliners: we looked at what is really weighing on the minds of the people in this city.

Two criteria were decisive: feasibility at state level – and majority social support beyond progressive milieus. Together, the five stand for a policy that tackles social inequality concretely, rather than just remaining at the level of declarations.

We are politically independent. Our demands are not left-wing or right-wing – they address problems that affect Berliners from all backgrounds. At the same time: we clearly stand on the side of those who are affected by rising rents, expensive mobility and an unfair education system.

Candidates from all democratic parties who publicly endorse our demands. We concentrate our active resources on the focus districts where our work makes the biggest difference. Anyone who gets behind the demands will be visible in our voting check.

It is social inequality that divides – not the naming of its causes. We demand that everyone who benefits from the community contributes to its funding. That is not division, that is fairness.
